| Customer Reviews: Sustaining the Earth February 6, 2010 Stephen Myers 1. I bought the book used for college course at a great $40 price with some cosmetic wear and tear and who cares - it was not bought as an art investment, just a text book.
2. Definitely a worthwhile book to read, however (and here comes the rub) authors Miller and Spoolman (I suspect Miller is the heavy weight of the two) occassionally depart from dispassionate science. They aer not impartial and have some very big axes to grind. Also, the writing style needs reflects their missionary zeal. It is not tight, concise, and antiseptic. Implicitly they are looking for converts.
3. An example (the cheap shot): they are happy to apply models of species origination, growth, evolution, decline, and ultimate extinction to the animal and plant kindom as a whole, BUT, they are squeamish in applying these frameworks DISPASSIONATELY to homo sapien. Good science is dispassionate and Miller and Spoolman are anything but.

I received my textbook within a few days of ordering it. It was in perfect condition!
Somewhat satisfied February 24, 2009 curley 4 out of 11 found this review helpful
I'm usually very satisfied with books purchased from Amazon. I buy all of my son's school books from Amazaon. However, I wasn't completely satisfied with this last purchase. I purchased the book brand new for approx. $136.00 and when I received the book some of the pages at the corner of the book had been folded over and creased. I didn't have time to return the book because my son needed it immediately. However, when you buy something brand new at that price you expect it to be perfect.
Think Twice February 14, 2010 Ebony Walton I purchased the book, and I tracked everyday online. The book was never delivered! However, I was able to get my money back after many emails!
the box was empty August 6, 2009 K. Lange 3 out of 7 found this review helpful
When I received the box, it was empty. It is quite possible that the book was not packaged correctly and fell out. At any rate, I have sent two e-mails to the seller, through amazon, and have received no response. Nothing. There doesn't appear that I have been given any avenue for recovery. Do not buy anything from the seller named "IJUE."
